was recently assigned to go and photograph recent graduate Megan Morgan, along with her dad at her families farm for Student Farmer magazine.

Editorial Photography: Trussell Trust and Barclays /
Another recent editorial commission went out last week. This time for a partnership between Barclays and the Trussell Trust.
Always fun to light the inside of a shipping container but I’m pretty pleased with the images. I’ve included one below that didn’t make the final selection along with the main header image used on the Barclays website.

Editorial Portrait: Dr John Llewellyn for the Financial Times /
Here are a few images from a recent commission to photograph Dr John Llewellyn for the Financial Times.
The article is focused on the campaign to to halt a London-listed company that is seeking to develop land and plant non-native trees on land near to his home.
You can read the article in the FT here - https://www.ft.com/content/a0ba8969-9d9b-4f86-ab3a-aa527502bebd
Editorial Photographer Wales: Financial Times Money FT /
A couple of images from a recent commission for the Money FT section of the Financial Times.
The story focused on the difficulties faced by first time buyers in the current climate.
Editorial Portrait: Royal British Legion Magazine /
I was commissioned towards the end of 2021 to photograph Michelle Harley for the RBL magazine. The article was focused on dependency, beating addiction and what it is that makes service personnel vulnerable to addiction. Michelle works for the Legion as an Outreach Officer so she helps service personnel directly with their dependency problems.
It’s always a challenge to shoot a ‘studio’ look in someones front room. Luckily we just about had enough space for this one. Here is the original image below (Left) alongside how it was used in the magazine (Right).
Editorial Photographer Wales: Abi Reader for the Financial Times /
Last week I picked up an assignment for the Financial Times to photograph dairy farmer Abi Reader on her farm just outside Cardiff.
I’ve shot a few times at various farms over the years and remembered to pack my boots this time!
Abi is the third generation of the same family on this farm, the passion for the care of her animals was evident in the short space of time I spent there.
Here is a small selection of images from the shoot. I’ll drop a link to the online article once I have it also.
Editorial Photographer: Pets at Home part 2 /
Here are a couple of images form the second shoot for Pets at Home MyVIP Magazine’s feature on millennial dog owners!
Editorial Photographer: Pets at Home /
At the start of October I was commissioned to photograph two dog owners (with their dogs of course…) for the winter issue of Pets at Home MyVIP Magazine.
Here are a couple of my faves from the first of those shoots. The issue should be available in store pretty soon I think but I’ll post up a tear sheet when I get one!
PR Photography: EFL x Mind - Goals worth talking about. /
A quick trip up to Cardiff earlier this week to photograph the a mural painted for the charity Mind who are running a campaign alongside the English Football League.
The English Football League (EFL) and their charity partner, Mind, have launched an awareness campaign for World Mental Health Day 2019, Goals Worth Talking About.
In between jobs I’m still trying to find time to finish off a small set of images from Lisbon from a visit a few weeks ago. Hopefully I should have those up here in a week or so, hopefully!
Cyclist Portraits : Cycle on the Senedd /
I photographed the annual Cycle on the Senedd protest ride for Cycling UK this week. After the speakers had finished I had time to grab a few quick portraits of riders/protesters.
PR Photographer Wales: Bellway Homes /
A couple more images from another job this week for Bellway Homes. This time in Bristol and Gloucester, lots of miles being covered recently!
Recent Work for Waitrose Weekend Magazine /
I've had a couple of fun shoots recently for Waitrose Weekend Magazine. The first being sand yachter, Andrew Parr down on Pembrey sands. This was a really windy day down on the beach, my light stands were barely able to stand even weighed down!
The second shoot was deep in rural Wales with Scything Instructor, Phil Batten. My take away from this shoot was the horsefly bite which I suffered 30 seconds into begining the shoot which then caused my arm to swell twice its normal size. I wont be forgetting that one in a hurry!
Recently Published: The Perfume Shop for Nose Magazine /
Early on in the summer I was commissioned to photograph the staff from a branch of the Perfume Shop for their internal staff magazine. Here are some images from the shoot.
If you are looking for staff portraits for your business then please get in touch and we can have a chat about creating a strong image for your organisation.
Recently Published: Millie Marotta for Artists & Illustrators /
I recently had the pleasure in travelling down to West Wales to photograph the talented illustrator Millie Marotta and her studio for Artists & Illustrators magazine.
The feature is in the current issue of the magazine and is out now.
You can view more of her work at her website - www.milliemarotta.co.uk
Shooting for yourself? /
Whenever I can I try and shoot something just for myself when I'm working. Whether thats an unusual scene or some nice light like the photo below.
Now some say you should always shoot for yourself, and while I agree to an extent, I also think there wouldn't have been a place for an image like this on the job I was commissioned for...interested to know what others think?
Editorial Photographer Wales: FGS Tool for Wirtschafts Woche /
I shot these portraits of Gareth Jenkins of FGS Tool for the German economic magazine Wirtschafts Woche back in June but I've been a little slow (a bit?!) on updating this blog.....
Recently published: Financial Times and Trading Standards Review /
A couple of recent commissions have just been published which I can now share with you.
I was asked by the FT to head up to Mid Wales to photograph William Watkins, the founder of Radnor Hills to go along with a recent interview for the Money FT section. The drive up was pretty awful with heavy rain that didn't let up for the whole day, scuppering my plans for a portrait out on the farm....
I was also really happy to shoot for the recently launched journal for trading standards, TS Review. Always nice to have images over a number of pages and I'm pretty happy with the ones chosen for the article.
Here are the tearsheets and also a few out takes from the shoots.
Great British Dog Walk - Rhossili Bay /
I photographed the Rhossili leg of the Great British Dog Walk for the charity Hearing Dogs (http://www.hearingdogs.org.uk) last weekend, here are a few of my favourite images from the sunny morning.
I've got a few other shoots that I'm waiting to post about, I'm trying to not neglect this space, too much!
